Unit 3: American Home Front

World War II “The Greatest Generation”
Unit #3 American Home Front

Unit Enduring Understandings:
WWII allowed the U.S. government to become greatly involved in and have more control over citizen's
daily lives.

In order to achieve victory in World War II the United States had to use all the resources at
its disposal and rely on the unprecedented commitment of the American people.

Some American citizens were singled out for prejudicial treatment because of race or nationality;
members of such groups still sought to prove their patriotism and loyalty.
